Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick who are about to start filming The Producers film will continue working together even after the cameras have stopped rolling. The pair who starred not once, but twice in The Producers on Broadway are now officially set to appear in a revival of The Odd Couple due to begin previews and open in October 2005. The play will feature Matthew Broderick as the neat Felix, and Nathan Lane as the significantly less neat Oscar.

Joe Mantello, who won Tony's for Assassins and Take Me Out is set to direct the piece which will be receiving its third presentation on Broadway. The show's first run took place in 1965 starring Art Carney and Walter Matthau as Felix and Oscar. That production won 4 Tony awards, and Matthau later reprised his role on film, this time opposite Jack Lemmon. A revival of the show in 1985 with female characters instead of male didn't fare as well as the original, running only 8 months, and starred Rita Moreno and Sally Struthers. The show also had a popular, and long-running TV series version starring Jack Klugman and Tony Randall.

Stay tuned for more details on the revival as they become available including further casting, and what theater the show will go into.
