The producers of La Cage aux Folles, the 2005 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival, announced today that it will play its final performance on Sunday, June 26, 2005, at Broadway's Marquis Theatre (1535 Broadway at 46th Street).

"I am so proud of this wonderful production. Unfortunately, despite winning the Tony Award on Sunday, our sales have not increased. We've decided to set the closing date for June 26th to give theatergoers a window of opportunity to see this beautiful show," said James L. Nederlander.

With a Tony Award-winning score by Jerry Herman and a Tony Award-winning book by Harvey Fierstein, the Broadway revival of La Cage aux Folles, directed by Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell (2005 Tony Award for Best Choreography), will have played 30 preview and 229 regular performances. La Cage aux Folles stars Robert Goulet and Gary Beach, and is produced by James L. Nederlander, Clear Channel Entertainment, Kenneth Greenblatt, Terry Allen Kramer, and Martin Richards

The performance schedule for La Cage aux Folles is as follows: Tuesday at 7pm, Wednesday through Saturday at 8pm, with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2pm, and Sunday at 3pm. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.com at (212) 307-4100 or at the Marquis box office.
