LEONARDO LIVE Screens Worldwide Beginning 2/16

Beginning February 16, 2012, art lovers around the world will be able to experience LEONARDO LIVE, a satellite-delivered HD presentation of the once-in-a-lifetime exhibition "Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan", captured at the U.K. National Gallery. 

LEONARDO LIVE offers an unprecedented opportunity for audiences worldwide to experience these da Vinci works.  The historic exhibition is sold out in London and, due to the fragility of the paintings, the exhibition cannot tour.

After limited screenings in the UK in November 2011, an expanded presentation of LEONARDO LIVE featuring bonus content will be available at hundreds of movie theaters worldwide, in limited screenings only, beginning February 16, 2012.  In addition to venues across the U.S., the program will also be seen in Argentina, Australia, Canada, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, and Sweden.

Hundreds of movie theaters in Europe that already equipped for satellite reception will receive LEONARDO LIVE following an agreement with Eutelsat, Europe's leading satellite operator and the main supplier of cultural and sports events to cinemas and out-of-home locations. Eutelsat will use the broad European footprint of its ATLANTIC BIRD 3 satellite for the HD broadcast.

Captured live on the eve of the exhibition opening in London this fall, LEONARDO LIVE will provide a  high-definition walk-through of the landmark exhibition, in-depth commentary about featured pieces in the exhibit and extra content. 

"Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan" brings together the largest ever number of Leonardo's rare surviving paintings and some international loans that have never before travelled. The exhibition also brings together the largest ever number of da Vinci's paintings, including a newly discovered, never-before-publicly exhibited painting, the Salvator Mundi.

Presented by New York-based alternative content distributors BY Experience, in collaboration with NCM Fathom and PhilGrabskyFilms.com, LEONARDO LIVE is a first for movie audiences worldwide.  The 100-minute HD capture is hosted by highly respected art historian and broadcaster Tim Marlow and presenter Mariella Frostrup.  The film is produced by Phil Grabsky's award-winning PhilGrabskyFilms.com.
