kef theatrical productions has announced THE BLUESTONE PROJECT - a new play reading series created and curated by Ben Bartolone from December of 2017 to May of 2018 at various locations throughout New York City.

THE BLUESTONE PROJECT will present one-night-only free readings of new, never-produced plays that address the shifting socio-political American landscape.

The Bluestone Project's first season is a minor step towards an ambitious goal to nurture conversation amongst our community and welcome all to express their inner voice and be heard. A diverse set of playwrights that reflect the actual nation present four new plays about an equally diverse set of American stories, from a Suburban Ford dealership, to the struggles of a young immigrant family moving to New York on the dawn of the space age.

The Bluestone Project will present the following plays for its first, 2017-18, season:

"Reunion" by Nandita Shenoy, Directed by Sanjit De Silva
December 14, 2017 at 3:00pm, ART/NY Bruce Mitchell Room

"Checo" Albany by Hadasa Mercado Cortes
February 2018 at 3:00pm, Manhattan Theater Club Studios, Studio 2

"Drive You Happy" by Kat Ramsburg
March 15, 2018 at 4:00pm, ART/NY Bruce Mitchell Room

"The National Debt Is Paid" by Ben Bartolone, Directed by Frankie J. Alvarez
May 2018 at 3:00pm, Manhattan Theater Club Studios, Studio 2

"I'm not breaking new ground by saying that we live in deeply divided nation," says Artistic Director Ben Bartolone, "but I know that the American theater's greatest strength is our ability to foster conversation. The Bluestone Project is about cutting through the names and titles that define our diverse country, and share the common threads of humanity underneath."

Reservations for the first play in the series, Nandita Shenoy's "Reunion" can be made via email at thebluestoneproject@gmail.com. Tickets are free to the 3:00 PM presentation on December 14th, but reservations are highly encouraged. The Bruce Mitchell Room at ART/NY is located on the third floor at 520 8th Avenue in Manhattan.
