KALLIOPE'S COMEDY ROAD TRIP to Roll into Philadelphia Fringe Festival
Justin Bregman, Peter Zhou, Cyndy Cecil, and Ann Votaw join the New York City-based comedian at Next in Line Comedy.
New York City-based comedian Kalliope Barlis, known professionally as Kalliope, will headline Kalliope's Comedy Road Trip on Saturday, September 12, as part of the 2026 Philadelphia Fringe Festival.
The evening of stand-up comedy takes place at Next in Line Comedy, Philadelphia's 2025 Best of Philly-winning comedy club. Kalliope will be joined by fellow comedians Justin Bregman, Peter Zhou, Cyndy Cecil, and Ann Votaw.
Known for sharp storytelling and personal, punchline-driven original material, Kalliope draws on her Greek upbringing, life in New York City, career as a professional golfer, and work helping people confront phobias.
She was one of 12 finalists selected from 115 comedians in the MicDupNYC Comedy Competition in Times Square.
Kalliope has performed at venues including West Side Comedy Club, Gotham Comedy Club, New York Comedy Club, Rodney's, Zanies Nashville, Governors Comedy Club, Christy B's, and Don't Tell. In her first year in stand-up, she made more than 300 stage appearances across the East Coast.
West Side Comedy Club on New York City's Upper West Side serves as Kalliope's home comedy base, where she produces a monthly comedy show.
Before comedy, Kalliope created the award-winning docu-series Kalliope's From Fear to Freedom. A former tournament-winning professional golfer and author of three Amazon bestsellers, she now turns stories of fear, growth, and life experience into stand-up comedy.
The show's featured comedians include:
- Ann Votaw - A Hoosier by birth and New Yorker by mailing address, Votaw began performing comedy in early 2025 following a career and relationship breakup. She also performs as Mrs. Claus during the holiday season.
- Peter Zhou - A New York City-based comedian whose material draws on his experience as a Chinese immigrant navigating life in America in his thirties.
- Cyndy Cecil - is a Georgia native bringing Southern charm and New York sass to comedy about relationships, family, and life's unexpected turns.
- Justin Bregman - An original New York City-based comedian whose concise, unexpected punchlines have earned him the nickname 'the two-line wonder' from Kalliope.
Kalliope's Comedy Road Trip is designed to offer audiences an upbeat night of comedy rooted in resilience, honesty, and the idea that joy can happen anywhere, at any time. Her motto captures the spirit of the show 'Forget about your problems and laugh at mine.'
