John Leguizamo Hosts Nickelodeon's 'Mega Music Fest', 5/22

On Saturday, May 22, Nickelodeon will host a brand new event entitled, "Nickelodeon Mega Music Fest"; according to people.com. Hosted by actor John Leguizamo, the concert will take place at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music. Nick Jr. preschool characters including Dora the Explorer and The Fresh Beat Band will perform alongside music sensations Colbie Caillat, Wyclef Jean and The Roots.

The concert will feature a unique combination of live performances integrated with Nickelodeon animation. Remaining celebrities and characters making an appearance at the May 22 concert are 'View' host, Sherri Shepherd and the cast of 'Yo Gabba Gabba!'

Cyma Zarghami, President of Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group says, "Nickelodeon considers music for preschoolers one of its most important attributes and extremely valuable to educational curriculum overall. It is exciting to be able to bring a big star-studded musical event to this audience and their families."

Nickelodeon's "Mega Music Fest" will be recorded live, and is scheduled to air sometime this summer on Nickelodeon.

John Leguizamo has appeared on Broadway in American Buffalo, Sexaholix, and Freak. On screen he has appeared in Baz Lurman's Romeo & Juliet and Moulin Rouge, and starred in the mini-series Arabian Nights.  He also lent his voice to the Ice Age franchise. Off-Broadway credits include the award-winning Mambo Mouth and Spic-O-Rama.
