Olivier Award-winning director Maria Aitken (39 Steps) will direct John Glover (Death of a Salesman), Marthe Keller (Judgment at Nuremberg) and Lisa Banes (Present Laughter) in a staged reading of Noel Coward's A Song at Twilight on Monday, April 16 at 7 pm at the Mainstage Theater (Playwrights Horizons).  The performance, sponsored by the Noel Coward Foundation, is presented in conjunction with The Noel Coward-New York Festival 2012.  A reception with the cast and director will be held following the performance.   Ms. Aitken serves on the Artists Advisory Board of The Acting Company; Ms. Banes is an Alumna of the Company. "A Song at Twilight is Noel Coward's theatrical farewell.  In typical Coward fashion, men think only they are in control while women know they wield the real power - obliquely when possible, ruthlessly when necessary," said Margot Harley,Producing Artistic Director of The Acting Company.  "We are honored to be included in the Coward Festival being celebrated all over the City and are deeply grateful to the Noel Coward Foundation for their support."
 
The Acting Company is in the midst of its 39th national tour which began at the Guthrie Theater and will play New York's Baruch Performing Arts Center April 9-22 presenting Julius Caesar, a new production directed by Rob Melrose of San Francisco's Cutting Ball Theater, and The Comedy of Errors, directed by Ian Belknap.  Founded by John Houseman andMargot Harley in 1972, The Acting Company has toured to 49 states and 10 foreign countries earning a TONY for Excellence in Theater, Obies, Audelcos and Los Angeles Critics Circle Awards.  Kevin Kline, Rainn Wilson, Patti LuPone, Frances Conroy, Jeffrey Wright Harriet Harris, David Ogden Stiers, Keith David and Jesse L. Martin are but a handful of performers who began their careers on tour with The Acting Company.
