John C. Reilly has withdrawn from the cast of Tale of 2Cities: An American Joyride on Multiple Tracks, Heather Woodbury's two-part epic (Grifters, Drifters and Dodgers and Mega Mexicana Waltz).  The show will be seen in separate performances at P.S. 122 from October 12th through 29th.

The actor, who received an Oscar nomination for his work in the film version of Chicago and a Tony nomination for his performance in True West, dropped out of the show due to a scheduling conflict.

A Tale of 2Cities is "the epic, multi-track tale of urban erasure - and renewal - in the wake of the Brooklyn Dodgers' move to L.A. In this, her first non-solo show, Woodbury crafts an ambitious and touching journey animating the American Dream and the immigrant experience. A modern-day Latino DJ spins together this collision of life-stories, spanning decades and neighborhoods, connecting 100 different lives to our own," according to notes on the show. A Tale of 2Cities, which was jointly commissioned by P.S. 122 and UCLA Live, will also star Winsome Brown, Michael Escamilla, Tracey Leigh, Diane Rodriguez, Ed Vassallo and Heather Woo, as well as Woodbury herself.

Woodbury, the recipient of the first Spalding Gray Award, is the founder and artistic director of Fomenting Arts Unlimited, Inc. and is a noted lecturer as well as writer.  Other works include the  multi-part, 10-hour solo play what ever (An American Odyssey in 8 ACTS).

A replacement for Reilly will be announced.
