The Acting Studio - New York announces that studio alumna Andrea Navedo (Xiomara on Jane The Virgin) is joining the guest faculty for the 2018 Summer Acting Conservatory. A few spots are available; prospective students are encouraged to apply immediately.

"Andrea joins a growing number of The Acting Studio's successful alumni, Lawrence Gilliard Jr. (The Deuce, Walking Dead, The Wire), Ato Essandoh (Altered Carbon, The Code, Chicago Med. Vinyl), Luna Lauren Velez, (The Purge, How To Get Away With Murder, Dexter) and Adam Rothenberg (Dietland, Ripper Street) who have joined our studio staff as professional mentors to the students, as their way of helping the younger generation of talent at the studio which they consider as home;" says studio founding director James Price.

The studio's Acting Conservatory programs include professional, full-time actor training classes which focus on instrument development. The curriculum is designed to provide actors with a solid foundation through a rigorous, 30-hour per week program, or a beginning foundation in the six-week Summer intensive. Students are mentored and trained to develop into professional artists capable of acting in film, TV and theatre. Additionally, our full-time programs offer practical experience through performance opportunities with Chelsea Repertory Company and it's acting and playwriting LABs, the Studio's resident theatre company.

The Acting Studio - New York is dedicated equally to the development of skills at the highest level through intensive short-term and long-term classes, and to creating opportunities for its students for the practical application of those skills in work presented in the studio's respected and regularly held "open-class" forums, and group projects presented under the auspices of the Chelsea Rep LABs, as well as on productions for public performance produced in conjunction with Chelsea Repertory Company. The success of many of its students in Film, Theatre and Television earns the studio a right to claim "developing award-winning talent."
