Inside Broadway has opened registration for its 2026 Summer Stock Junior theatre camp, which will run August 3-14 for New York City students interested in musical theatre performance.

The annual two-week intensive will feature productions of The Lion King JR. for participants ages 8-13 and Beetlejuice JR. for students ages 13-18. Rehearsals will take place Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at a Midtown rehearsal space, with final performances presented at The Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater.

Students participating in the program will receive training in acting, singing, choreography, scenic design, theatre terminology, and stage performance from professional theatre artists. Campers will also attend a matinee performance of & Juliet and participate in a Q&A session with a Broadway performer.

“Summer is the best time for kids to explore their passions, discover new interests, and develop essential life skills outside of the classroom,” said Inside Broadway founder, president, and CEO Michael Presser in a statement. He added that the program gives students the opportunity to work with theatre professionals while experiencing Broadway firsthand.

Registration for Summer Stock Junior remains open through May 30 or until the program reaches capacity.

Founded in 1982, Inside Broadway provides arts education programming to approximately 100,000 students annually across more than 100 New York City public schools. The nonprofit’s programs include touring productions, in-school residencies, after-school workshops, the “Creating the Magic” series, and “Broadway Day in the Schools.” The organization was originally established as a free ticket initiative in partnership with The Shubert Organization during the Broadway run of Cats.
