Black Ensemble Theater has promoted Daryl D. Brooks to Artistic Director, and revealed the opening of a new 150-seat Studio Theater, rehearsal room, and dressing room as the second phase of the Free to Be Village. Brooks has been working with Black Ensemble Theater for twenty years, first as a box office associate, then house manager, associate director, and producing managing director. SOLT & UK Theatre Call for Ticketing Legislation to be Included in King's Speech

SOLT & UK Theatre have joined Which? in calling for legislation introducing a cap on ticket resale prices to be included in the upcoming King's Speech. Tickets continue to be sold on secondary sites at significant markups, and the Government's own research estimates fans could save £112 million annually as a result of a price cap. Theatres across the UK strive to offer accessible pricing, but uncapped resale prices are described as misleading consumers and distorting the ticketing market.
