Indira Varma Joins as Producer for World Premiere of FOAL at Finborough Theatre

Amar Chadha-Patel makes his professional stage debut in the one-man show, directed by Annie Kershaw

Ahead of previews beginning this evening, it is announced today that award-winning actress, Indira Varma will be joining the producing team of the world premiere of Foal by Associate Artistic Director of The Donmar Warehouse, TITAS HALDER. The one-man production, directed by Annie Kershaw, will see Amar Chadha-Patel make his professional stage debut. Varma joins ahead of the production's run at Finborough Theatre – Foal opens on 8 May, with previews from 5 May and runs until 30 May.

Indira Varma said today, “I'm thrilled to support Titas, Amar, and the FOAL team in creating this fantastic production of an exhilarating play. Titas and I first worked together on The Dance of Death twelve years ago and it is a delight to renew our collaboration. I cannot wait to see the brilliant Amar make his stage debut.”

TITAS HALDER added, “I didn't know how lucky I was to have met, and to have worked with, the frankly astonishing Indira Varma, early in my career. I count myself extremely lucky now to have Indira's continued support and collaboration, and it means a great deal for FOAL, our team, and for Amar, making his stage debut, to be championed by one of the country's leading actors.”

Indira Varma is an Olivier Award winning actress. She has worked extensively across theatre, film, and television. She will star in Dune: The Prophecy and can currently be seen in The Night Manager and The Other Bennet Sister. She recently starred In Cold Water and The Capture. Further film and television credits include Obi Wan, For Life, This Way Up, Carnival Row, Melrose and Game of Thrones. She starred opposite Rami Malek in Oedipus at The Old Vic and played Lady Macbeth opposite Ralph Fiennes in the touring production of Macbeth. Her other theatre credits include The Seagull (Harold Pinter Theatre), Present Laughter, Faith Healer (The Old Vic), Exit the King (National Theatre) and The Treatment (Almeida Theatre). Varma will soon lead Glengarry Glen Ross at The Old Vic.
