HANDS ON A HARDBODY Cast Album Gets 7/9 Digital Release

Ghostlights Records has just announced that the Original Broadway Cast Recording of HANDS ON A HARDBODY will be released for digital download on July 9, 2013 and the CD will arrive in stores on August 13. The show was nominated for three 2013 Tony Awards, including "Best Original Score." The album features a cut song from the show called "The Tryers" as a special bonus track. Inspired by true events and based on the acclaimed 1997 documentary of the same name that was created by S.R. Bindler and produced by Bindler and Kevin Morris, the musical features a book by Doug Wright (Pulitzer Prize winner, I Am My Own Wife), lyrics by Amanda Green (Bring It On: The Musical), music by Trey Anastasio (Phish) and Amanda Green, direction by Neil Pepe (Broadway'sSpeed-The-Plow), and musical staging by Sergio Trujillo (Memphis, Jersey Boys). The album was produced by Trey Anastasio with Amanda Green serving as co-producer and Kurt Deutsch as Executive Producer.
