GREASE: LIVE Official Soundtrack Album Debuts at #5 on iTunes!

Adding to the news that last night's broadcast of GREASE: LIVE was a ratings bonanza, Showbiz 411 reports that the soundtrack to FOX's live musical has debuted at number 5 on iTunes, competing against heavy hitters Rihanna, Charlie Puth, Adele, and Sia. The record is available HERE.

The track list (see below) consists of classic songs from the musical, along with an all-new tune written for Carly Rae Jepsen's character, Frenchy.

Released on Republic Records, GREASE: LIVE Official Soundtrack Album became available digitally last night, Sunday, Jan. 31 at 7:00 PM ET/PT, to coincide with the start of the three-hour live event on FOX. In addition to the digital release, Target will have the exclusive CD package with four bonus tracks released on Friday, March 4.

The GREASE: LIVE Official Soundtrack Album features the show's cast performing classics from the original stage musical, written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, and the 1978 Paramount film, plus two original tracks written by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey performed by Carly Rae Jepsen and DNCE and an original track written and performed by DNCE. Also among the high-profile performers are Julianne Hough, Aaron Tveit, Vanessa Hudgens, Carlos PenaVega, Keke Palmer, Kether Donohue, Jordan Fisher, Andrew Call, David Del Rio,Boyz II Men and more!

Grammy Award(R)-nominated pop superstar Jessie J kicked off last night's event with her rendition of the iconic theme song "Grease (Is the Word)" written by Barry Gibb. The show also featured special cameo appearances by the band DNCE as Johnny Casino and the Gamblers, and Grammy Award(R)-winning R&B groupBoyz II Men as Teen Angel, singing "Beauty School Dropout."
