Lovers of rock, rejoice! This year, the McLean Day stage will feature two popular area rock bands-Fools & Horses and The Grandsons. Rounding out the onstage entertainment will be family entertainers Jessie & James and Mutts Gone Nuts and dance students enrolled in Joy of Dance classes at the McLean Community Center (MCC). Produced by MCC, the festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at Lewinsville Park, 1659 Chain Bridge Road. Festival admission is free and includes all onstage entertainment.

11 a.m. Joy of Dance
Kick off this year's McLean Day with our community's finest young dancers. The local talent showcases their skills in a variety of dance styles.

12 noon Jessie & James and Mutts Gone Nuts
Jessie and James have trained their adorable pooches to juggle, rope walk and more!

1 p.m. The Grandsons
As these McLean High School graduates move and shake into their 21st year in the world of rock and roll, the Grandsons are excited about winning a Wammie Award for artist of the year. The group's sixth record, Live at the Barns, Volume 2, also won a Wammie for Best Roots Rock Recording. A fan aptly described The Grandsons' exuberant sound as "American music in a blender with the lid off." The more prominent elements in this eclectic whirlpool are New Orleans rhythm and blues, rockabilly, swing and country two steps.

Your second chance to enjoy the physical comedy of some of the best doggone entertainers around!

2:45 p.m. Teen Character Award Presentation

3 p.m. Rocknoceros
Rocknoceros (pronounced like "rhinoceros") is an award-winning band that makes cool music for children of all ages. The group has released two celebrated CDs, and both have won Children's Recording of the Year from the Washington Area Music Association. A Jammin' Java favorite, Rocknoceros also has performed at Wolf Trap's Theatre-in-the-Woods and The Smithsonian Discovery Theater.

4 p.m. Fools & Horses
The grand prize winner of Starbuck's National "Off the Clock" CD Contest, Fools & Horses' music has won the group a legion of loyal fans and industry acclaim. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, the group features Matt Hutchison on lead vocals and guitar, his brother Tim Hutchison on drums and vocals, Kent Warren on bass and vocals and Steve Herrera on guitar and vocals. Fools & Horses has had a fast climb to the top of the Mid-Atlantic's vibrant music scene, winning Music Monthly's Reader's Poll two years straight as "Best Modern Rock Band." They have shared the stage with national acts including The Gin Blossoms and Bon Jovi.

Parking is not allowed at Lewinsville Park on the day of the festival. Starting at 9:30 a.m. and continuing throughout the day, shuttle buses will run to and from the park from Redeemer Lutheran Church at 1545 Chain Bridge Rd, McLean Baptist Church at 1367 Chain Bridge Rd. and MCC, 1234 Ingleside Avenue. Parking also is available at the Lewinsville Senior Center, 1609 Great Falls Street; shuttle carts will run from the back of the Senior Center building to Lewinsville Park.
