Carrie Fisher's hit one-woman show Wishful Drinking has been extended at Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse through January 14th, 2007.

The show began previews on November 7th, opened on November 15th and was originally to have played through December 24th.

"Like her own life, with no intermission...Ms. Fisher finally comes clean about Star Relations, Star Wars and other Celestial Bodies in Wishful Drinking,: according to press notes, which will focus on her "unusual childhood (as) the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, the rise to movie icon as Princess Leia, her marriage to Paul Simon, the release of her hit movie Postcards From the Edge starring Meryl Streep... to drug addiction, bipolar disorder, motherhood, having a child with a man who forgot to tell her he was gay...and her ultimate triumph over adversity." Joshua Ravetch directs.

The actress has also appeared in films such as Wonderland, Heartbreakers, Soapdish, Sibling Rivalry, When Harry Met Sally, Hannah and Her Sisters, Garbo Talks, The Blues Brothers and Shampoo. The 1990 film Postcards of the Edge (loosely based on her relationship with Reynolds) was based on her novel, while The Best Awful, Surrender the Pink and Delusions of Grandma are among her other books.
