First Look At Matt Bomer On AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW

By: Oct. 30, 2014

Matt Bomer goes from THE NORMAL HEART to AMERICAN HORROR STORY!

Recognizable GLEE and THE NORMAL HEART standout Matt Bomer is set to appear on hit horror series AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW next week according to a new report and a FIRST LOOK at the actor in action in his new role is now available to view.

Bomer will appear on the "Pink Cupcakes" episode of the FX anthology series, airing November 5.

Additionally, yesterday, it was officially confirmed that Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka will also be appearing in the final episodes of the season, as well as frequent AMERICAN HORROR STORY actress Lily Rabe, who will be reprising her Season 2 ASYLUM role of Sister Mary Eunice.

Of note, Rabe joins fellow ASYLUM co-star Naomi Grossman as pinhead Pepper to be the only actor to play the same role on two separate seasons of the series and early reports indicate Rabe's return will involve the current storyline afforded to Grossman on FREAK SHOW.

Bomer has previously appeared on Ryan Murphy's GLEE and THE NEW NORMAL in addition to his Emmy Award-nominated turn in this summer's HBO adaptation of Larry Kramer's THE NORMAL HEART.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW stars Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Denis O'Hare, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Frances Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe, Evan Peters and Jamie Brewer, with new cast members Michael Chiklis, Wes Bentley, Finn Wittrock and Patti LaBelle joining the ranks for the new season.

The official description of AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW is as follows: "American Horror Story: Freak Show begins its tale in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Florida. The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American carny experience."

HIS EYE IS ON THE SPARROW: THE ETHEL WATERS MUSICAL at The Looby

While we wait for Ethel Waters to get the large-scale showbiz treatment she deserves, Nashville audiences, for now at least, can show respect and give recognition to the legendary figure who is brought to life onstage once more by Connye Florance and Saaneah Jamison via the Kennie Playhouse Theatre production of Parr’s His Eye Is On the Sparrow: The Ethel Waters Musical. Director Kennie Dozier’s production is somewhat uneven, but his two leading ladies – the aforementioned Florance and Jamison – are mesmerizing, each one creating her own indelible portrait and unique interpretation of Ethel Waters in two acts that feature some of her best-known songs, tunes that are a part of the Great American Songbook and among the most haunting, most beautiful melodies ever written.
