Maria Tucci, Richard Easton, Tammy Grimes, and Judd Hirsch have signed on to appear in plays presented as part of the Food for Thought series of play readings at the Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South) this March.

Tucci (Tony Award-nominee for The Rose Tattoo) will join previously-announced stars Frances Sternhagen and Fritz Weaver on March 1st in Susan Charlotte's The Tree of Knowledge, which is adapted from the Henry James story. Some of the actors are also scheduled to attend a post-screening reception after the film The Broken Sole Trilogy is shown on March 3rd; the film stars Danny Aiello, Margaret Colin, Bob Dishy, Judith Light, Laila Robins, and John Shea.

Easton (Tony Award-winner for The Invention of Love) and Grimes (Tony Award-winner for Private Lives, The Unsinkable Molly Brown) will star in Tennesee William's drama The Night of the Iguana--in its one-act version--on March 6th.

Hirsch will appear in a reading of Herb Garbner's I'm With Ya on March 9th; Gardner also penned I'm Not Rappaport, for which Hirsch won one of his two Tony Awards (the other was for Conversations with My Father). I'm With Ya will be seen in a double-act bill with Charlotte's Tango Finish.

Charlotte is also the creator of Food for Thought, which was founded in 2000. The series was founded with the mission "to provide a home for the oft neglected one-act play, and to couple it with a light lunch. Patrons arrive at The Player's Club before , enjoy a delicious buffet-style sandwich lunch, and then take in a one-act play by an award-winning writer read by New York's finest actors. The plays are presented simply, without the trappings of lights or sets - just the actors and the text. The audience is then privy to an intimate question and answer period with the actors, directors, and writers," according to press notes.
