The Highline Ballroom, NYC proudly announces the addition of the following show to our calendar: Monday, December 21

EAST VILLAGE OPERA COMPANY CORE-TET The Hills Are Alive! Celebrating the Rodgers and Hammerstein Classic! File Under: Rock, Classical, Opera, Musical Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
$25 adv, $30 at door

From the twisted musical mind of East Village Opera Company's arranger and founder Peter Kiesewalter comes a one-time concert performance featuring songs from Rodgers & Hammerstein's score to the classic musical THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Only different. Using the "Core-tet" of EVOC's tours and recent Grammy nominated album "Olde School" (guitarist Ben Butler, bassist Richard Hammond, drummer Jeff Lipstein, keyboardist Peter Kiesewalter) along with special guest musicians and singers, hits from this enduring Broadway (and Hollywood) evergreen -- including "Do Re Mi," "My Favorite Things," "The Lonely Goatherd," and "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" -- are lovingly reworked into a joyful mash-up. In this one-time concert event, fans will recognize the songs they love like they've never heard them before. THE HILLS ARE ALIVE! is presented by arrangement with The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization.
