POMPANO BEACH, Fla., Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ Alyona Ushe has always thought big, and now the cultural visionary is launching a campaign to attract artists nationwide to Pompano Beach, Florida. Ushe, who helms the Creative City Collaborative (CCC), is implementing an ambitious program to integrate culture into every aspect of the city. Her initiative will showcase international artists while cultivating emerging talent, and program and manage all cultural venues in Pompano Beach, consisting of the Pompano Beach Amphitheater, the soon-to-be constructed Cultural Center, Bailey Contemporary Arts (BaCA), and the Ali Cultural Arts. In addition, the CCC (www.ccc-arts.org) will be creating citywide festivals that will immerse the city in music and art and create signature events such as Pompano Beach Music Fringe and Sea of Jazz.

Ushe was born in the former Soviet Union to a highly accomplished stage actress and a nuclear physicist father who moonlighted as a cultural tour-guide at the Hermitage in what is now St. Petersburg, Russia.

"I was immersed in arts and culture from my first breath," said Ushe. She also credits the Soviet cultural landscape for giving her an unusual take on creativity and perseverance."Under communism, artists were forced to be even more inventive and ingenious in their artistic expression because of the highly censored environment. That taught me to keep digging deeper for an even stronger potential."

Ushe has substantial experience in launching new venues, including the highly acclaimed CCC's Arts Garage (www.artsgarage.org) in Delray Beach, Florida. And previously, Classika Synetic Theater in Washington DC, in addition to strengthening established institutions such as the New Orleans Opera Association.

In Pompano Beach, she is determined to create a cultural haven for artists of all disciplines and accomplishments.

"We are creating a platform where the entire city becomes a stage for artists and extends far beyond the walls of each venue," explained Ushe.

"The leadership of the City of Pompano Beach and the Pompano Beach CRA has invested substantially in transforming the city into a cultural destination and has developed an outstanding infrastructure to make arts and culture come alive in Pompano Beach. "Now, we are taking that foundation and making arts and culture come alive throughout the entire city," declared Ushe.
