Common Ground Theatre (4815B Hillsborough Road, Durham NC) and Ghost & Spice Productions presents Six Degrees of Separation, a play written by John Guare and directed by Rachel Klem, throughout the month of October. A young African American man claiming to be Sidney Poitier's son cons an Upper East Side couple. He sets in motion a series of events that will alter the course of their lives forever. Inspired by a true story, the play is both a laugh-out-loud comedy and a biting social commentary about the separation between the ‘haves and the ‘have-nots. Winner of the 1993 New York Critic's Circle Award.

The cast will feature company members Lenore Field and Amanda Watson, with guest artists Mary Cates, Aaron Dunlap, Larry Evans, Alphonse Nicholson and David Sennett.

Opening night is Friday, October 8 at 8:00 PM, with shows continuing Saturday, October 9, Thursday through Saturday, October 14 - 16 and Thursday through Saturday, October 21 - 23 at 8:00 PM. Matinee showing on Sunday, October 17 at 2:00 PM.
