The Children's Museum of Manhattan will offer a series of special events and activities during the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, including a daylong celebration on MLK Day (Jan. 18). The museum, located at 212 West 83rd Street, is usually closed on Mondays.

The special programming includes a Martin's Mosaic Installation that will allow children of all ages to honor King's memory by creating a mosaic of his portrait, and a Historic Heroines: Coretta Scott King activity during which kids will create a children's book in honor of King and his wife, Coretta Scott Scott King, and also learn about The Coretta Scott King Book Award, which is given to outstanding African-American writers and illustrators of children's literature. Additionally, on MLK Day only, the world famous Harlem Gospel Choir will perform at the museum. Also, on Saturday only, kids will be able to jump, flip, and spring to action with Stan's Pepper Steppers, the 2015 World Double Dutch Champions.
