As six wonderfully unique and impassioned contestants vie for the championship by spelling their way through vexing vocabulary, hilarious and poignant personal stories unfold…along with a dash of riotous audience participation.
Kevin McHale plays William Barfée. "All of these kids are so weird and everyone is just obsessed with spelling," he told BroadwayWorld. "Growing up when you have that thing that you're so into and nobody else gets it... All of these kids are so different but have come together for this very specific reason. They all need friendship!"
