Directed by Jim Mickle, to new indie vampire flick 'Stake Land' opened to positive reviews this past week at the Toronto Film Festival.

The film stars Broadway veteran Michael Cerveris and film favorite Kelly McGillis, as well as Nick Damici, Connor Paolo, Dannielle Harris and Sean Nelson.

The official website for the film describes it as "a fierce, alternative vision of America's bleak future," where "a young boy is about to learn how cruel the world can be. Martin was a normal teenage boy before the country collapsed in an empty pit of economic and political disaster.  And from the ashes rose a new breed of terror. A vampire epidemic has swept across what is left of the nation's abandoned towns and cities, and it's up to Mister, a death dealing, rogue vampire hunter, to get Martin safely north to Canada, the continent's New Eden."

Cerveris won a Tony in 2004 for Sondheim's ASSASSINS.  He has also been nominated for his roles in THE WHO'S TOMMY, SWEENEY TODD and LOVEMUSIK.  His most recent credits include HEDDA GABLER and IN THE NEXT ROOM (Or the Vibrator Play).

Kelly McGillis is best known for her film work, starring in classics such as 'Witness,' with Harrison Ford, 'Top Gun' and 'The Accused' opposite Jodie Foster.  Most recently, McGillis has appeared on Showtime's 'The L Word,' and onstage in a production of 'Little Foxes' at the Pasadena Playhouse.
