Celebrate the Winter Olympics February 2010 at the Staten Island Children’s Museum

The Museum will be open FREE to the public on the following Northfield Bank Foundation Cool School Holidays: 

Monday, Monday February 15th - Presidents Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On this School Holiday visitors can participate in the Staten Island Children's Museum's Game Show
The Olympic Knowledge Challenge. Contestants should arrive at 3 p.m.

Olympic Medals and Games - make medals and compete in some games
Saturdays & Sundays - February 6 & 7 and February 20 & 21 at 1, 2 & 3 p.m.

Design and Create Stickers
Kids can design & create their own stickers to decorate their sports equipment and our items.
Saturdays & Sundays - February 13 & 14 and February 27 & 28. Workshops begin at 1, 2 & 3 p.m.

The Zoo Too! - Our friends from the Staten Island Zoo will visit with some zoo friends for us to see and understand!
Saturday - February 27 at 2 p.m.

Health Plus Kidz Cook - Which country?
Olympic time is perfect to learn some geography and some food trivia
On, Fridays we will be cooking different countries!

___________ Bacon - February 12 "Canada"
___________ Cheese - February 19 "Switzerland"
______ _aise Sauce - February 26 " Holland"

Fridays - February 5, 12, 19 & 26 cooking begins at 2,3 & 4 p.m.

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday - WIW programs are free with Museum admission.
Clay Day-Wednesdays- Aspiring sculptors can create works of art with special air-dry clay.
Paint Day - Thursdays - Picasso may have started like this!
Kidz Cook- Fridays- Future chefs learn to practice recipes and sample some fancy food.
While at the Museum, families can visit hands-on, fabulous interactive exhibits: Block Harbor, The Big Game, Bugs and Other Insects, Great Explorations, Portia's Playhouse, Sea of Boats, Ladder 11, D.B.'s Fantastic Machines & House About It! and more! Museum Hours are noon - 5 p.m. when NYCity public schools are open and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. when NYCity public schools are closed (including weekends). Admission is $6 per person; children under 1 and members are admitted free. Every day, join Animal Time when youngsters can assist our educators in caring for our birds, bugs, fish and guinea pig. Telling tales out of school is okay everyday when visitors hear stories from around the world. Grandparents are admitted free on Wednesdays. The SI Children's Museum is located at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, 1000 Richmond Terrace, just minutes away from the Clove Road exit off the Staten Island Expressway.
