Cariou, Murney, Burgess et al. Lead SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED at the Laurie Beechman, 8/27

Following five sold out weeks of shows, The Laurie Beechman Theatre will continue their hit series, SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED for one performance only, Friday, August 27th at 7pm. Joining the cast is special guest, Len Cariou, who originated the roles of Fredrik in A Little Night Music and Sweeney in Sweeney Todd. Also joining the cast are Telly Leung (Rent, Pacific Overtures), Nikki Scalera (Hairspray), Stephen Wallem (Nurse Jackie), Julia Murney (Wicked), Anne Runolfsson (The Phantom of the Opera, Victor/Victoria) and Tituss Burgess (The Little Mermaid, Guys & Dolls).

The Beechman's summer series, SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED, began at the midtown venue in July. Featuring an array of Broadway and Cabaret's most dynamic performers, Sondheim Unplugged celebrates the work of Broadway's most beloved and prolific composer, accompanied by piano only.

There is $20 cover charge, as well as a $15 food or beverage minimum (a full dinner menu is available). At each performance, the series included guest appearances by performers who created roles in original Sondheim musicals.  This year's guests were: Sarah Rice (Sweeney Todd's original Johanna), Danielle Ferland (Into the Woods' original Little Red Riding Hood and Sunday in the Park with George's original Louise), Pamela Myers (Company's original Marta) and Pamela Winslow (Into the Woods' original Rapunzel).
