Cabaret Season Kicks Off at Signature Theatre 8/16

The Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre opens its 2011-12 cabaret series on Tuesday, August 16th with "The Marcy and Zina Show" starring Helen Hayes Award nominees Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich. A tremendous hit at Signature's 2010 Sizzlin' Summer Cabaret series, the duo make their much-anticipated return with some of their wittiest, romantic, and most sophisticated songs, including "Taylor, the Latte Boy." "The Marcy and Zina Show" will play from August 16 - 20, 2011 at 8:30pm.

Tracy Lynn Olivera - January 3 -7

Olivera (Fantine in Signature's Les Miserables) teams up with Emmy Award-winner Lenny Williams in a show displaying her powerhouse voice.
"The Lost Songs of Broadway: 1960's" - June 26 - 30

Showcasing the lost songs from a magical decade of musical theater.

For a limited time, ticket-buyers can save $20 on the 4-show cabaret package. Order by August 20th and the package is only $120. Single tickets for individual performances are also available for $35. In addition to the 4-show cabaret season, Signature's annual holiday celebration "Holiday Follies," will be getting everyone in the spirit of the season from December 13 - 24 with a collection of holiday favorites performed by some of DC's most popular artists. "Holiday Follies" tickets are $41 per person - and not part of the cabaret subscription package.

An extension of Signature's steadfast commitment to musical theater, the cabaret series provides a distinct entertainment experience to its audiences. Transforming its smaller performance space into an intimate club complete with small tables and candlelight, Signature invites patrons to bring the outstanding wine, mixed drinks, and light fare from its highly praised Ali's Bar into the Theatre to enjoy during the performances.

SIGNATURE'S 2011-12 SEASON TICKETS

The line-up for Signature Theatre's 22nd season features the Tony Award®-winning shows Hairspray and God of Carnage and the Washington DC premiere of the cult classic musical Xanadu. The season also features an unprecedented five world premiere works, including The Hollow, The Boy Detective Fails (both in repertory), Brother Russia, and Really Really. In addition to the mainstage shows, Signature will be presenting three productions with limited engagements, including the world premiere of A Second Chance and Sweet Tea: Black Gay Men of the South, based on the award-winning book. Stephen Sondheim's first musical Saturday Night will be a special concert event that will play for four performances only.

Tickets for cabaret performances are $35 per person (Holiday Follies tickets are purchased separately and are $41 per person). Signature's cabaret subscription consists of four cabaret shows and is $140 per person. The cabaret subscription does not include Holiday Follies.

Signature Theatre is located at 4200 Campbell Avenue (22206) off I-395 at the Shirlington exit. After the exit, blue Signature signs mark the way to the theatre. Free parking is available in two adjacent public garages. Please note that Campbell Avenue is a new street and some GPS online mapping systems do not yet recognize Signature Theatre's address.
