CPCC Theatre presents Godspell, with Music and Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, at the Pease Auditorium, September 28, 29, 30 and October 4,5,6,7.

Based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew, and featuring a sparkling score by Stephen Schwartz composer of Wicked, Pippen and Children of Eden, Godspell boasts a string of well-loved songs, led by the international hit, "Day By Day." As the cast performs "Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord," "Learn Your Lessons Well," "All For The Best," "All Good Gifts," "Turn Back, O Man" and "By My Side," the parables of Jesus Christ come humanly and hearteningly to life. Drawing from various theatrical traditions, such as clowning, pantomime, charades, acrobatics and vaudeville, Godspell is a groundbreaking and unique reflection on the life of Jesus, with a message of kindness, tolerance and love.

Godspell is the opening production of the CPCC Theatre 2012-13 season. Directed and choreographed by Stephen and Susan Gundersheim. Music Direction by Ellen Robison. The cast includes Ryan Deal, Jimmy Chrismon, Matt Carlson, Sara Henkel, Steven James, MerEdith Owens, Jennifer Reid, Marvin King, Erika Ross and Lexi Karabatsos.

Tickets are available at the CPCC SunTrust Box Office at 704-330-6534 or online at tix.cpcc.edu.
