Actress Brooke Shields, currently appearing in Broadway's THE ADDAMS FAMILY, announced today that prior film and television commitments prevent her from continuing with the creative process for the new musical LEAP OF FAITH.

"I'm very disappointed that I'm not able to continue my association with this project." Shields said in a statement. "Being a part of Leap of Faith's world premiere was an absolutely thrilling experience. I wish the producers and creative team much success as they prepare to bring this wonderful show to New York."

Shields played the role of "Marva" in the world premiere of LEAP OF FAITH last fall at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.

Shields has received numerous awards and accolades for her extensive repertoire of talents. She was nominated twice for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy, and was also nominated for The American Comedy Awards' Funniest Female Performer in a Television Series Leading Role for her hit comedy show, "Suddenly Susan." She is the recipient of five People's Choice Awards.

Future plans for LEAP OF FAITH will be announced soon.
