Broadway and Cabaret Stars Join 2012 Musical Fundraiser for The Actors' Temple, 11/26
The Best of Broadway & Cabaret will come out in support of the Actors' Temple, (est. 1917) on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 6:45 PM. The Third Annual Concert will take place at the Temple, 339 West 47th Street. This theater district historic landmark has been struggling to survive in recent years.
Performers donating their time and talent include: Douglas J. Cohen, Jamie deRoy, Shana Farr, Tom Gamblin, Jackie Hoffman, Paul Katz, Richard Kind, Alice Levine, Dana Lorge, Marilyn Michaels, Sidney Myer, Jill O'Hara, Tony Roberts, Johnny Rodgers, Tony Sheldon, Stacy Sullivan, Deborah Tranelli, and Sal Viviano. Paul Chamlin will musical direct. Producer Randie Levine-Miller will also host.
According to Randie, "Part of the sanctuary ceiling fell down just after Yom Kippur, 2011. Last year's fundraiser helped pay for those repairs."
In the old days, Actors' Temple member, Sophie Tucker would get The Shuberts to donate a theater & she would produce an annual show. The money raised would help pay for the temple's yearly expenses. "Now they just have me to gather my theater and cabaret performer friends. It's always a swell party, as well as a mitzvah!"
All tickets are tax-deductible. Tickets are $125 for the Concert only; $275 includes the VIP/Cast After-Party at Tony's di Napoli Restaurant, 147 West 43rd Street; Patron tickets are $1,000 which includes 2 Concert tickets, VIP/Cast After-Party, as well as a choice of Dinner for 2 at a fine New York Restaurant or a pair of tickets to "Forbidden Broadway".
Group Sales Executive and Theater Producer, Carol Ostrow ("Forbidden Broadway") is co-hosting the VIP/Cast party. She and Randie Levine-Miller serve on the Board of The Actors' Temple.
