Kids with Guns will present the World Premiere of An Octopus Love Story, a dramedy written by Delaney Britt Brewer and directed by Mike Klar. Performances will run from May 2 to May 20, 2007 at Center Stage (48 West 21 St.) in NYC. Previews begin May 2 for a May 5 opening.

"What if falling in love with the wrong person was the best thing you've ever done? Jane and Danny, two drifting New Yorkers, identify themselves as gay…until their friendship catches their hearts off guard. A political protest against the ban on same-sex marriage ignites an unlikely and heartbreaking romance in An Octopus Love Story," state production notes.

The cast includes Michael Cyril Creighton (The Vietnamization of New Jersey, VH1's "Best Night Ever"), Andrew Dawson (The Blue Flower/HERE), Jenny Greer, Kelli Holsopple (Antigone/Phoenix Theatre Ensemble, Measure for Measure/Pearl Theatre), Eric Kuehnemann, Krista Sutton (Dora Award Nominee/Canada) and Josh Tyson (Antigone/Phoenix Theatre Ensemble). The production team consists of Brian Sidney Bembridge (Scenic Design), Heather Klar (Costume Design) and John Wolf (Lighting Design).

Delaney Britt Brewer is a playwright and a member of Kids with Guns and Ensemble Studio Theater's playwriting collective, Youngblood. Brewer assistant directed John Gould Rubin in ...a matter of choice at Chashama, and workshopped her plays Singing to Placedo at Collective Unconscious and An Octopus Love Story on Theater Row. She received her BA in Theater from UNC-Greensboro.

Director Mike Klar last directed Conference Room A at The Red Room.  He has a BFA from the University of Delaware.

Artistic Directors Ben Cikanek (COO of pop icon Kidrobot, www.kidrobot.com) and Mike Klar (former Saatchi & Saatchi art director) formed Kids with Guns in the summer of 2006. Their inaugural production was the 2006 Fringe Festival and Fringe Encore Series entry The Blue Martini.
