Bay Street's Comedy Club Presents Janeane Garofalo & Al Madrigal 9/17
The summer laughs continue through Labor Day, as Bay Street's Comedy Club presents actress/comedian Janeane Garofalo & funny man Al Madrigal for an outrageous night of fun Monday, September 7 at 8pm.
Janeane Garofalo has been an American institution since she first burst onto the scene in 1992. Known as both an actress and comedian, her unflinching honesty has inspired laughs, as well as struck a chord with the left, right, and everyone in between. She joined the cast of "Saturday Night Live" in 1994 and has been seen in many award-winning roles including the acerbic talent booker on "The Larry Sanders Show" for which she received an Emmy nomination and two Cable Ace nominations. Most recently, television viewers know her as Janice on Fox's "24".
Janeane has had many critically acclaimed roles in such films as "The Truth About Cats & Dogs", "Steal this Movie", "Copland", "Reality Bites" and more. Her own specific brand of sharp wit and comedy has also been seen in her roles in "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion", "Bye Bye Love", "Mystery Men", and "The Cable Guy", directed by her friend Ben Stiller. Ben and Janeane co-authored the best seller "Feel this Book" (Ballantine, May 1999) and she was also a cast member of his Emmy-Award winning "Ben Stiller Show."
Like Janeane, friend and fellow comic Al Madrigal too burst onto the comic scene and has been called "dynamic" by the New York Times. In 2004 he was chosen as the Jury Award Winner for Best Stand-Up Comedian at the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival. Television viewers know him from his roles on "Chelsea Lately" and "Gary Unmarried" as well as numerous appearances on Comedy Central which included his own Special for the station.
Tickets to the comedy shows are $60 and are going fast. For tickets or more information visit www.baystreet.org or call or visit the Box Office at 631-725-9500. Bay Street is located on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor, NY.
