TV: Jeff Hobson of THE ILLUSIONISTS National Tour
Coming to the Durham Performing Arts Center from November 10th-15th is the national tour of The Illusionists featuring magician Jeff Hobson!
Jeff Hobson is one of the most in-demand comedy magicians working today. His refreshing and clever mix of comedy and magic has brought him back for repeat performances all over the world.
Hobson has won numerous awards for his skills. Among the most recent is his Stage Magician of the Year award given by the Academy of Magical Arts aka The Magic Castle in Hollywood, California . He was also given the Best Comedy Magic award by the International Magic Awards Association as well as an award of Best Magic Review by the World Magic Awards for his role as star and producer of the critically acclaimed Carnival of Wonders show at the Reno Hilton Hotel and Casino in Reno, Nevada.
Hobson introduction to Las Vegas started with an audition at the famed comedy club, Catch a Rising Star at Bally's Casino. This audition turned into numerous return, headline engagements.
In 1993, Hobson joined the cast of Spellbound at Harrah's Casino. This run lasted over four years including being the only act held over by request of casino management during a mid-contract show change .
After a three-year hiatus that took Hobson to Reno to produce and star in the critically-acclaimed magic production show called, Carnival of Wonders, he came back home to become the "Host of Las Vegas". Since then, he has starred in his own, one-man show, Money and Madness and been the Master of Ceremonies for countless special events and production shows including the World's Greatest Magic Show and V-The Ultimate Variety Show.
Hobson's most recent creative/producer credit partners him with Norwegian Cruise Line in development of the highest rated show of their line; The Illusionarium, aboard the beautiful Norwegian Getaway.
This is a one-of-a-kind, immersive entertainment experience of magic that has cruise critics raving.
In addition to his extensive Las Vegas performances, Hobson travels the world performing countless shows for corporations, organizations and television appearances.
