FHB Theater Productions will present the world premiere of Avalon, written and directed by Glory Bowen, at the Looking Glass Theatre (422 West 57th Street) beginning February 2nd and ending February 25th. Performances run February 2nd, 4th, 8th, 9th, 12th, 14th, 20th, 24th and 25th all at 7:30 (there are additional performances on the 12th at 3 PM and the 25th at 2 PM).

"Avalon is a retelling of the King Arthur legend based on the women behind the throne. Presenting a reality of the times never seen before, Avalon is still a mystical journey through England where battles rage over the roles of religion and feminism in government. De-vilifying classic scourges like Morgan La Fey and making them the protagonists, this is an exciting, sexy, action-packed romp through the magical world of Camelot," state production notes.

The cast includes: Ali Baynes, Andrew Beattie, John Bertrand, Linda Blackstock, Dolan Byrnes, Matthieu Cornillon, Amy Dannenmueller, Randy Howk, Sarah Jebian, Jesse May, Jordana Oberman, Cameron Peterson, Susan Rankus, Yvonne Roen, Joe Sevier, Matthew Sholler, Randi Sobol, Maggie Surovell, Jess Cassidy White, and Michael Whitney.

Glory Bowen directs Avalon. She recently directed The Snow Queen at The Looking Glass Theatre, and is currently represented Off-Broadway with Anomal. She is also well-versed in Arthurian legend and theology, applying her knowledge of Druidism to this production. The rest of the artistic team includes: Ryan Bartruff (fight choreography), Chris Brooks (sound design), Irma L. Escobar (costumes), Carolyn Mraz (scenic designer), Brittany Rostron (assistant director), Hana Mori Taylor (assistant director & choreographer), and Amanda Woodward (lighting designer).
