A Glittering Salute To The American Musical"- Career Transition For Dancers', 23rd Anniversary Jubilee on Monday, October 27 at 7pm at New York City Center, 131 West 55 Street (bet. 7 & 6 Aves).  Multi award-winning actress Angela Lansbury will host the Gala, which will be followed by an Anniversary Supper with the Stars at The Grand Ballroom at The Hilton New York.  "ON BROADWAY! A Glittering Salute to the American Musical", is a glorious historical journey inside the Broadway musical seen through the eyes of legendary choreographers. Their choreography transformed Broadway shows into the greatest musicals of all time.  The Gala will be the entertainment-dance event of the new season; with appearances by dance companies, musicians, dancers, stars and many surprises.  It is produced & directed by Ann Marie DeAngelo.  The honorees for the Gala will soon be announced as well as the recipient of the Rolex Award.

Angela Lansbury has enjoyed a career without precedent; spanning more than half-a-century, as a star of movies, a 4-time Tony Award-winning musical actress, and star of "Murder, She Wrote," the longest running detective drama series in television history. Contracted by MGM as a teenager, she was nominated for an Academy Award for her first film, "Gaslight" and the following year was again nominated for "The Picture of Dorian Gray," winning a Golden Globe Award. She has appeared in over 40 motion pictures.  Angela Lansbury made her Broadway debut in "Hotel Paradiso" and followed in "A Taste of Honey"; later starring in her first musical, "Anyone Can Whistle." She triumphed as "Mame" for 2 years on Broadway and later on the road; earning her the first of her unprecedented 4 Tony Awards as Best Actress in a Musical ("Dear World", "Gypsy", "Sweeney Todd").  She also starred for a limited engagement of "The King and I."  She returned to London in the Royal Shakespeare Company production of Albee's "All Over," and played Gertrude to Albert Finney's Hamlet in the National Theater production.  This past May, she returned to Broadway in "Deuce" receiving a Tony nomination for Best Actress.  She has hosted (or co-hosted) more Tony Awards telecasts than any other individual.  For 12 seasons she starred as Jessica Fletcher on "Murder, She Wrote;" afterwards starred in "Mrs. Santa Claus," the first original musical for television in four decades. She is in the Theatre Hall of Fame; received the  Lifetime Achievement from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts; named a Commander of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II; member of the T.V. Hall of Fame; recipient of a Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement award; nominated for 18 Emmy Awards.  She has won 6 Golden Globe Awards and nominated for an additional 8; presented with the National Medal of the Arts and a recipient of a Kennedy Center Honor.
