'40s Musical When the Lights Go On Again Opens 11/1

When The Lights Go On Again, a new musical celebrating the music of the 1940s and World War II, will open Wednesday, November 1st at 7 PM at the Triad Theatre (158 West 72nd Street ~ between Broadway & Columbus Avenue). Written and staged by Bill Daugherty/>, the musical is produced by Thoroughbred Records and Max Weintraub. Previews are set to begin Saturday, October 28th at 2PM.

"Set during a live WNEW radio broadcast from the ballroom of the Roosevelt Hotel, When The Lights Go On Again follows The Moonlighters, an up and coming singing group trying to land a job with the legendary Glenn Miller band. Told through 28 hit songs from the 1940's, the musical paints the emotions of a country supporting its combat efforts and the sacrifices that war can bring," according to press materials.

When The Lights Go On Again will feature 4-time MAC Award-winner Daugherty (Damn Yankees), Paul Kropfl (Splitting Infinity, The Chosen), Christina Morrell (The Classics Professor, "Broadway Our Way") and Bistro Award-winner Connie Pachl/> ("Broadway Our Way"). Doyle Newmyer will serve as musical director with Jim Conant on guitar. Three members of this creative team worked on last season's revue "Broadway Our Way," which played for nearly six months.

When The Lights Go On Again will play Saturday's at 2 PM and Sundays at 7:30PM beginning October 28th through December 17th at The Triad Theatre (158 West 72nd Street ~ between Broadway & Columbus Avenue). There will be no performances on October 29th and November 5th. There is a 2 drink minimum and a $20 music charge. Reservations are required and can be made after 6PM by calling 212-362-2590.
