Following the huge success of their first event, Calamity Chang (NYCs very own "Asian Sexsation!" www.CalamityChang.com), Sukki Singapora ("The World's First Burlesque Performer from Singapore") and Jen (Thirsty Girl) Gapay (one of the "Biggest producers in Burlesque" www.thenewyorkburlesquefestival.com) are reuniting for their second annual installment of THE ASIAN BURLESQUE SPECTACULAR. The event, which is the biggest Asian burlesque show ever held, will feature a host of international talent from New York to Tokyo, promising an exciting new line up in homage to the Asian legends and icons of Burlesque.

Sukki Singapora commented: "it's incredible to think we're making history when we hold these events. Not just for the global Asian community, but also for New York - this has never been done before on such a scale, and it's extremely exciting to be writing the cultural history books. Burlesque, especially in Asia, still holds a certain amount of taboo, so these performers really are standing up as role models in their field. We couldn't be more honored to have such talented people be a part of it."

Calamity Chang added: "It is particularly important for Asian women to take control of how their sexuality is portrayed and depicted publicly. As burlesque performers we have the extraordinary opportunity to take the reins and control our own representations in a millieu of 'Tila Tequilas'. This festival gives Asian performers the opportunity to represent themselves unfiltered, uncensored, and unscripted by corporate networks. Whether it's through seduction, comedy or though provoking tableaus, this is unadultered performance art at it's finest."

The 2nd Annual Asian Burlesque Spectacular is due to take place on Friday May 16th at DROM in New York City, with a star studded line up of Asian burlesque heavyweights including; Sukki Singapora (Singapore), Calamity Chang (NYC), Bunny Pistol (San Francisco), Shanghai Pearl (Seattle), Orchid Mei (Denver), Cherry Typhoon (Tokyo/Montreal), Wrong Note Rusty (Toronto CA), Miyuki Divine (Calgary, CA), DiLovely (San Diego), Cheeky Lane (NYC) and Violet Eva (Japan). And Hosted by NYC's very own glamorous drag extraordinaire, Yuhua Hamasaki & DJ Momotaro on the decks.
