POWDER HER FACE to Play at Teatro Colón The Thomas Ades' two act opera, Powder Her Face, will play at Teatro Colón Dec. 13-18.

The opera premiered in London 1995 on the decline of a controversial character of the English aristocracy: Margaret, Duchess of Argyll, whose sexual exploits were cause for scandal in 1963 during their divorce process. A ruthless criticism of the frivolity and snobbery of the spectacle society, which at the same time rescues a fragile creature that bravely faced the prejudices of the time.

The creative team includes Marcelo Ayub (Musical Director), Marcelo Lombardero (Scene Director), Noella Gonzalez Svoboda (Scenography), Luciana Gutman (Costume), Horacio Efron (Lighting Design), Natalio Ríos and Paula Rodriguez (Video Design), Gustavo Bruno and Nicolás Di Chiazza (Sound Design), Ignacio Brizzio (Assistant Director), Cecilia Fracchia and Ulises Maino (Accompanying Teachers), Fara Korunsky (Stage Manager), Kathryn Power (Translation and Language Instruction) and Jimena Delpino and Carolina Butteri (Characterization).

The cast features Daniela Tabernig as "Duchess," Oriana Favaro as "Maid," Santiago Burgi as "Electrician" and Hernán Iturralde as "Hotel Manager."
