Photo Flash: Sneak Peek - Duke City Rep to Stage THE 39 STEPS This Spring

Duke City Repertory Theatre presents John Buchan's The 39 Steps, adapted by Patrick Barlow and based on Alfred Hitchcock's acclaimed film. Directed by newcomer Vincent Carlson-Brown (Artistic Director of Nebraska Shakespeare), the show features company member Ezra Colón, DCRT alum Peter Diseth (Wooden Snowflakes) and Catharine Pilafas (Five Women Wearing the Same Dress), and Martin Andrews. In this Hitchcock spoof, Richard Hannay's life is boring, dull, and rather tedious-until he meets a beautiful woman. But when she winds up mysteriously murdered, Hannay finds himself on a cross-continent run for his life, encountering underwear salesmen, violent plane crashes, foreign spies, and the man with a missing finger. The 39 Steps is a hilarious story jam-packed with adventure, romance, over 150 characters (played by a cast of four of Albuquerque's best)...and let's not forget the handcuffs.

This two-time Tony and Drama Desk award-winning play is a perfect fit for Albuquerque's Best Theatre Company (Albuquerque the Magazine, 2011-2014). Duke City Rep is not only looking forward to bringing laughter to their audiences this May, but food on the tables of those who need it most. The company is honored to partner with Road Runner Food Bank of New Mexico and will be holding a food drive during the three-week run of the show.
