Albuquerque Theatre Guild to Host 6th Annual ATG General Auditions, 6/15-16

Albuquerque Theatre Guild proudly announces the 6th Annual ATG General Auditions. Auditions will be held Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, June 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Aux Dog Theatre, 3011 Monte Vista Blvd. NE. General Auditions are for immediate casting needs, upcoming productions, independent projects and exposure to local theatre organizations and directors.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to have your talents seen by several directors at once, and to be considered for numerous shows at many ATG member theater companies during their 2013-2014 production seasons," says Claudia Mathes, auditions coordinator. Actors should prepare both a classical and a contemporary monologue that together total 3 minutes. Sides will be available for those without prepared pieces. Local producers and directors say general auditions are productive because they see a variety of talent at the same time. Says one director, "I found the general auditions very valuable. I will be casting a show, and will be looking for talent." Another writes, "I found a wonderful young actress...I'd have never found her without the auditions. I'll be there this year for sure."

The Albuquerque Theatre Guild is a 501(c)(3), non-profit umbrella organization dedicated to making the Albuquerque area's rich live-theater scene better known to both residents and visitors alike. In just five short years, the all-volunteer, highly creative ATG has grown to include 45 live theatre companies and venues, as well as over a hundred individual theatre practitioners. The ATG publicizes the breadth and variety of local theatre in a twice-yearly guide, through its website and social media, on radio and television, at numerous community events, and via the Theatre Lovers Community - a group ATG formed for its most devoted audiences. ATG also invites students to preview performances and supports local high school drama programs. ATG embraces the gamut of theatre from professional to community theatre and student productions.
