Albuquerque Theatre Guild proudly announces the 4th Annual ATG General Auditions. Auditions will be held Saturday, June 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, June 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. at VSA North 4th Theater, 4904 4th Street NW. General auditions are not necessarily for immediate casting needs. Rather, they are for upcoming productions and exposure to local theater organizations and directors.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to audition simultaneously for many independent projects and ATG member theater companies for their upcoming production seasons," says Claudia Mathes, ATG board member. Actors should prepare both a classical and a contemporary monologue that together total 3 minutes. To schedule a time slot, please contact CAMATHES@comcast.net. Call backs will be coordinated by individual ATG member theater company directors.Local producers and directors find the general auditions productive because it allows them to see a variety of talent at the same time. Says one director, "I did find it useful, because I was casting a show at the time." Another adds, "I found the general auditions very valuable. I will be casting a show, and will be looking for talent." A third writes, "I found a wonderful young actress...I'd have never found her without the auditions. I'll be there this year for sure."About Albuquerque Theatre Guild
The Albuquerque Theatre Guild is a 501(c)(3), non-profit umbrella organization dedicated to making the Albuquerque area's rich live-theater scene better known to both residents and visitors alike. More theatrical performances take place every weekend here in Albuquerque than in any other U.S. city of its size. Our mission is to promote public awareness of theater in the greater Albuquerque area, to encourage the growth of theater audiences, to foster cooperation and collaboration among the member organizations, and to facilitate and assist the work of individual members involved in all aspects of theatrical production.
