Signature Theatre Hosts November 15th CD Release Party For Matt Conner 11/15

Virginia's Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre is hosting a CD signing and release party for WINTER, a new holiday CD from Signature American Musical Voices Project commissioned composer Matt Conner (Nevermore, The Hollow and Partial Eclipse) on Monday, November 15th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in Signature Theatre's Mead Lobby.

Conner's debut CD WINTER, which features him on the piano, includes holiday favorites such as "Jingle Bells" and "We Three Kings" as well as two original songs composed by Conner.

Conner will be in the Mead Lobby to perform a special concert of the songs from the CD and to autograph CDs for sale. CDs are available at the Signature Theatre Shop for $20. WINTER is the perfect holiday gift: with the purchase of four CDs, an additional copy is free.

Tickets are not required for the signing, the release party, or the performance.

Refreshments, including wine, beer and mixed drinks, will be available for sale at Signature's acclaimed Ali's Bar.

Matt Conner is the composer of Signature Theatre's world premieres Nevermore, Partial Eclipse and The Hollow (21/24 workshop), The Girl From No Man's Land (incidental music) and Crossing (workshop). He has been seen on Signature's stages in Sweeney Todd (Bird Seller/Jonas Fogg), Show Boat (Windy/Capt. Andy u/s), Les Misérables (Thenardier, Monparnasse, Pimp), Kiss of the Spider Woman (Ensemble, Aurelio), Merrily We Roll Along (Scottie), The Witches of Eastwick (Toby), Into the Woods (Steward, Baker u/s), My Fair Lady (Second Cockney), Assassins (John Hinckley, Jr.), Pacific Overtures (Tamate, Lion Dancer), and A Funny Thing...Forum (Protean, Hero u/s). He can be regularly seen playing the piano in Signature's Mead Lobby before performances.

Conner's other compositions include A Christmas Carol for GMCW and Martin: The King of Pizza for Creative Cauldron, Inc. He has also been seen on stage in the DC area in West Side Story (Olney Theatre) and Oscar Wilde's Salome (Synetic Theatre). He has a BFA from Shenandoah University.

Recipient of the 2009 Regional Theatre Tony Award, Signature Theatre is a non-profit professional theater company in Arlington, Virginia dedicated to producing contemporary musicals and plays, reinventing classic musicals, and developing new work. SIGNATURE'S 2010-2011 SEASON
Signature's 2010-11 season includes the legendary rock musical Chess composed by ABBA's Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, Yasmina Reza's Tony Award-winning play Art, Side by Side by Sondheim, and the world premieres of Ken Ludwig's A Fox on the Fairway, Joe Calarco's Walter Cronkite Is Dead. and Joseph Thalken's musical Wheatley's Folly. DIRECTIONS - PROXIMITY TO WASHINGTON, DC

Located in Arlington, Virginia and complete with free parking, Signature Theatre is just 5.2 miles from the D.C.'s landmark, the Washington Monument, an estimated 10 - 15 minute drive according to googlemaps.com.

The Signature Theatre complex is located at 4200 Campbell Avenue (22206) off I-395 at the Shirlington exit. After the exit, blue Signature signs mark the way to the theater. Free parking is available in two adjacent public garages. Please note that Campbell Avenue is a new street and some GPS online mapping systems do not yet recognize Signature Theatre's address. Using public transportation, Signature is a $12 taxi ride from the Pentagon City Metro stop (on both the Blue & Yellow lines) with a taxi stand located in front of the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
