Synopsis of Proof: On the eve of her 25th birthday, Catherine's life has been turned upside down. After years of caring for her father, a brilliant but unstable mathematician, he has passed away leaving her to pick up the pieces of the life she suspended during her tenure as his caregiver. The remnants of her father's research are extremely and painfully present in the form of 103, largely unintelligible, notebooks he left behind. Catherine's estranged sister, Claire and their father's former student, Hal orbit around her as she works to make sense of her loss and the looming possibility that she may have inherited much more than her father's mathematical prowess. While struggling with grief, loss, expectation, and her own volatile emotions, the discovery of a new notebook among her father's chaotic research reveals a shocking discovery that will change the field of math, and possibly Catherine's life, forever.

Proof will run at 1st Stage from March 31-May 8 with show times as follows: Thursday at 7pm (first weekend only), Fridays at 8 pm, Saturdays at 2 pm and 8 pm, and Sundays at 2pm and 7pm. There will be no 7pm performance on Sunday, April 3, 2016. Exclusive 2016 Benefit performance May 6 at 6pm.
