FEINSTEIN'S AT THE REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine and a "throwback to the classic era of supper club entertainment" by Time Out New York, will feature a return engagement of Tony Award nominated Broadway star Rebecca Luker from May 9 - 20. She will perform an updated version of her critically-acclaimed show dedicated to female songwriters. When she originally presented it last season, Stephen Holden of The New York Times called it "gorgeous" and raved that it "keeps you hanging on every word" with "shimmering vocal flights that breathe with life." "If you've been wondering who might be the heir to the great Barbara Cook," he concluded, "Ms. Luker is the one." She will sing works by golden-age lyricists Betty Comden ("Lucky To Be Me"), Dorothy Fields ("The Way You Look Tonight") and Carolyn Leigh ("Killing Time"), in addition to a new generation of songwriters including Jessica Molaskey ("I Wouldn't Trade You"), Debra Barsha ("He Never Did That Before") and Marcy Heisler & Zina Goldrich ("Out of Love"). Ms. Luker will again be joined by musical director Joseph Thalken on piano and Dick Sarpola on bass. Mark Waldrop serves as director. All shows will take place at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

Rebecca Luker was last seen on Broadway in the revival of Nine playing the role of Claudia. For her portrayal of Marian Paroo in the revival of The Music Man, Rebecca received a Tony Award nomination, Outer Critics Circle Award nomination, and a Drama Desk Award nomination. Rebecca has also starred as Maria Rainer in the revival of The Sound of Music (Outer Critics Circle Award nomination). She performed the roles of Magnolia in Show Boat (Tony Award nomination), Lily in The Secret Garden (Drama Desk Award nomination), and Christine in The Phantom of the Opera. She was in the last rotating cast of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues and Off Broadway in Can't Let Go, a new Keith Reddin play presented by the Keen Company.

She has also appeared with Musicals in Mufti in Darling of the Day. Ms. Luker has performed leading roles at regional theatres throughout the country including the 2002 Kennedy Center Sondheim Celebration, where she played the role of Clara in Passion; Lucille in No, No, Nanette at the Cape Playhouse; She Loves Me at UCLA's Freud Playhouse Reprise! in the role of Amalia Balash; Mary in Harmony (La Jolla Playhouse, Drama-Logue Award); and Julia in Time and Again (Old Globe Theatre). Concerts include The Boys From Syracuse with the Encores! at City Center, and her New York solo debut at Lincoln Center's American Songbook Series, singing selections from the New Voices Collective. She has appeared with many orchestras in concert including the Alabama, American, Baltimore, New Jersey and St. Louis Symphonies and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. She has performed as a featured soloist with the Boston Pops for their tribute to Meredith Willson and salute to Broadway Originals.

She has also been a guest performer at Carnegie Hall for Broadway Sings the Songs of Billie Holiday and My Favorite Broadway: The Leading Ladies and at City Center, My Favorite Broadway: The Love Songs. Her TV credits include the "HallMark Hall of Fame" movie Cupid and Cate, "Law and Order," several PBS broadcasts including The Boston Pops concerts, the Kennedy Center Honors, "Backstage at The Sound of Music," "Larry King Live" and "Matlock."
