Leda hasn't seen her daughter in years, but when her life comes to a crisis point her therapist does the unthinkable and offers concrete advice, sending all three women on a collision course with their all-too-human need for certainty and connection. Playing Oct 25-Nov 9 Wednesday - Saturday at 8pm with 2pm matinee on Saturday at Pacific Theatre, 1440 W 12th Ave. For tickets ($19.99-29.99, taxes and fees not incl.) call 604.731.5518 or visit pacifictheatre.org. A guest production by Ruby Slippers Theatre.

Vancouver, BC - Is there ever a good time to reconnect with the daughter whose life you ruined? Leda is a recovering alcoholic who has been visiting her therapist, Carolyn, for some time. She has a life-changing secret she needs to share with her estranged and zealously religious daughter, Annie, but she doesn't know how. When Carolyn finally gives Leda concrete advice, the resulting actions lead all three women on a collision course with their all-too-human need for certainty and connection.

Pacific Theatre is proud to present the Ruby Slippers Theatre production of Communion by Daniel MacIvor. Following up on their resounding success with A Beautiful View, Ruby Slippers Theatre returns to MacIvor territory with the West Coast premiere of Communion. This collaboration is especially noteworthy as it punctuates two anniversaries: Pacific Theatre's 30th and Ruby Slippers Theatre's 25th.

"We at Ruby Slippers Theatre are thrilled to be working with our friends at Pacific Theatre." Says Ruby Slippers Theatre's Artistic Director, Diane Brown, "I cannot imagine a better presenting partner for us with this smart, dark, emotionally charged Daniel MacIvor play, which we have wanted to produce for a very long time! It is also an honour to have multi-award winning director Roy Surette on board, in addition to a wonderfully talented company of actors and designers. Our 25th birthday party is starting with a bang!"

Director Roy Surette is thrilled to come back to Vancouver after moving to Montreal to helm Centaur Theatre. "It's my first MacIvor!" He enthuses, going on to praise the "evocative script and fantastic cast and team" that he'll be working with.
