The Santa Paula Theater Center, 125 So. 7th St. in downtown Santa Paula presents the Anton Chekhov classic masterpiece, THE SEAGULL adapted and directed by Michael Perlmutter, on its MAIN STAGE April 18 through May 25 with Friday and Saturday Performances at 8 p.m. and Sunday Matinees at 2:30 p.m.

THE SEAGULL, the first of Anton Chekhov's four most acclaimed full-length plays, began it initial run in 1896 and has been considered a major masterpiece of modern literature since. Set at a family lake house outside of Moscow, the play centers around celebrated actress Irina Arkadina's visit to her aspiring playwright son with her successful novelist lover in tow. This visit ignites love, unrequited passions, and jealousies among the characters and illustrates their missed connections and what it means to be an artist.

THE SEAGULL features a cast of 13 including Andrea Tate, Jessamyn Arnstein, Patrick Beckstead, Tyler McAuliffe, Christine Burke, Doug Friedlander, Bernie Martinez, Leticia Mattson, Hugh McManigal, Jecca Perlmutter, Jennifer Skutley, Tim Viramontes, and Travis Winterstein. Michael Perlmutter directs with Leslie Nichols producing and Megan Brister Stage Managing.

Performances run from April 18-May 25 with performances on Friday and Sat. at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.
