Eternity Playhouse is Sydney's newest state-of-the-art theatre and events venue in the heart of Darlinghurst, on the eastern fringes of the CBD. The heritage listed 127-year-old Baptist Tabernacle on Burton Street, has been renovated and restored into a 200 seat state-of-the-art theatre. Award winning architects Tonkin Zulaikha Greer have successfully fused contemporary design with the building's historical features to create a truly unique, stylish and welcoming event space. The refurbishment recently won the Greenway Award for Heritage Architecture.

Close to the city and the bustle of Oxford Street, Eternity Playhouse provides Sydney with a unique, intimate corporate events venue. The venue is perfect for theatre style presentations such as product launches, staff training sessions, AGMs, presentations, fashion shows, corporate entertaining or seminars. The 200-seater comes fully equipped with the latest AV and lighting equipment. The stunning lobby can be used for pre and post event networking for up to 250 guests, or hired as a single space with catering packages and bar facilities on hand. Corporate entertainment 'theatre and dinner' style packages are available.

The venue boasts nearby public transport links and affordable car parking solutions, comes equipped with a commercial kitchen, has password secure Wi-Fi throughout and is fully accessible. The former Baptist Tabernacle was named in honour of Sydney identity, Arthur Stace, who became known as "Mr Eternity". It was in this very church that Stace heard the sermon that inspired him to anonymously chalk "Eternity" on the city's footpaths for over 30 years.

As a part its vision to develop Oxford Street into a cultural quarter, the City of Sydney began the renovations in 2008 after a consultation process with the local community about how best to utilise the building. Eternity Playhouse opened its doors in November 2013 and is home to resident company Darlinghurst Theatre Company, which presents a diverse season of innovative and exceptional theatre throughout the year.

"The Eternity Playhouse is an exceptional, well equipped, state of the art theatre in a magnificent heritage building. Not only is it perfect for theatre productions, it's adaptable to many hire uses," said Darlinghurst Theatre Company Director Glenn Terry. "We believe a theatre ought to be a vibrant, inspiring and welcoming place, and Eternity Playhouse is just that."
