Electric City Playhouse will present A SOUTHERN EXPOSURE by Kelley Kingston-Strayer.

Director Jim Rasheed

Set in a small town in present day Kentucky, Callie Belle Hurt, a young woman raised by Hattie, her cantankerous, controlling grandmother and two eccentric, doting aunts, announces she's moving to New York to live with her boyfriend. Will Callie's fairy-tale ending be dashed? Will she realize her own self worth? Can damaged relationships be saved? A moving and humorous award winning comedy-drama guaranteed to please.

In both 2008 and 2009, A Southern Exposure, won the Cincinnati Playwrights Initiative "New Voice Series" and was presented at the Aronoff Center, Fifth Third Bank theatre. It placed third in the 2009 Appalachian Festival of Plays and Playwrights and is premiered at the historical Barter Theatre in Abingdon, VA during the 2010 season.
