Last night, supporters of TheatreWorks Silicon Valley gathered to hear the 2019 Regional Theatre Tony Award-winning company and its Board of Trustees announce the launch of its 50th Anniversary Campaign, a $5 million fundraising campaign to ensure the future success of the nationally-acclaimed theatre, including commissions for new plays and musicals.

Mongrel Thumb today announce the cast for the world premiere of Stephanie Jacob's new comic drama, Again. Hannah Price directs Rosie Day (Izzy), Chris Larkin (Tom), Natasha Little (Louise) and Charles Reston (Adam). The production opens at Trafalgar Studios on 9 February, with previews from 6 February, and runs until 3 March.

In the hilariously theatrical style of The 39 Steps, five actors portray dozens of characters in a thrilling race against time and treachery, recreating one of the greatest adventures of all time. Full of stampeding elephants, raging typhoons, and runaway trains, Around the World in 80 Days, adapted by the award-winning playwright Mark Brown, offers an imaginative and ingenious expedition for the whole family. Sally Cookson's energetic and imaginative new adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's masterpiece - Jane Eyre - has just begun a major, 21-city tour of the UK, culminating in a return to the NT's Lyttelton Theatre from 26 September to 21 October 2017. TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 2016/2017 season with a musical saga of immigrant America, Rags. From the creators of Fiddler on the Roof and Wicked, this exhilarating musical follows the journey of Jewish immigrants Rebecca and her son David, who find themselves navigating the teeming, turn-of-the-century tenements of New York. A soaring, tuneful score (music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Stephen Schwartz) illuminates this sweeping saga (book by Joseph Stein) of dreams and disillusions, love lost and inspiration found, and the heart and soul of the American character. It was declared "A winner, warm and witty. You are tempted to rise cheering," by The Mercury News. Rags will be directed by TheatreWorks Founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley, who notes "this production could not be timelier. As America debates immigration policies, what better time to present this deeper look at the newcomer's experience." Rehearsals began this week for the new West End cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child who will start their performances at the Palace Theatre in London's West End on 24 May 2017 following the final performance from the current cast on 21 May 2017. 

A Red Orchid Theatre continues 2016- 2017 Season with the Chicago premiere of The Nether, written by Jennifer Haley,directed by Ensemble Member Karen Kessler. The Nether features Ensemble Members Guy Van Swearingen and Doug Vickers with Maya Hlava, Ashley Neal and Steve Schine. The production runs January 26 - March 12, 2017, at A Red Orchid Theatre, 1531 N. Wells. Press Opening is January 30, 2017 at 7 p.m. 

Sonia Friedman Productions presents the long-awaited UK premiere of Dreamgirls, opening tonight 14 December 2016 and running at the Savoy Theatre until 6 May 2017.

Hundreds of people came to the venue for exhibitions, performances, tours and workshops, and the gala, which featured some of the shows seen at the theatre in the last five years, and those to come. There were appearances by the National Theatre's War Horse, the Royal Shakespeare Company's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Northern Ballet's Jane Eyre, and the musicals Chicago, Mamma Mia!, and The Bodyguard. Glyndebourne Opera, ZooNation Youth Company and the Philharmonia Orchestra were also represented.

The Hypocrites is pleased to launch its 2016-17 season with the Chicago premiere of YOU ON THE MOORS NOW, Jaclyn Backhaus's comical mash-up of mythology and 19th century literary heroines, directed by Devon de Mayo. YOU ON THE MOORS NOW will play September 9 - October 30, 2016 at The Den Theatre's Heath Main Stage, 1329 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. STAR acts have been confirmed for The Marlowe Theatre's fifth anniversary gala next month (October). There will be performances from the National Theatre (War Horse), the Royal Shakespeare Company (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Northern Ballet (Jane Eyre), and Zoo Nation Youth Company. Also in the line up are the Philharmonia, The Marlowe's resident orchestra, poet Lemn Sissay, and scenes from West End musicals (to be announced). Pantomime will be represented by Ben Roddy, the evening's host, Stephen Mulhern, and Phil Gallagher.

Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage, Fairfield County's professional award-winning theatre company, will open its 30th Anniversary Season with a revamped production of "Gypsy." The season-opener will run September 9-25. Staged in a cozy 110-seat theatre, this production of "Gypsy" offers audience members the intimacy of a local theatre with the professionalism of Broadway -- an experience only MTC MainStage can provide.
