The Drama League presents DirectorFest,  the only festival in the United States dedicated to the art of contemporary stage directing.  The festival series that began January 10, 2020 continues with an evening of short plays with The Lover  by Harold Pinter, directed by NJ Agwuna,  and Appearances by Tina Howe, directed by Lindsey Hope Pearlman.

Today, January 21, is Big Hug Day and Broadway casts, crews and fans alike united for a big hug in Times Square. The group hug took place at noon at the Red Steps / Father Duffy Statue in Times Square.

BoHo Theatre closes out its successful 2017 season with the passionate musical MARIE CHRISTINE by Michael John LaChiusa at the Theater Wit, directed by Lili-Anne Brown. The Mac-Haydn Theatre (MHT), concludes its 2017 season with the 1964 Tony Award Winner for Best Musical and the 2017 Tony Award Winner of Best Revival of a Musical in Hello, Dolly! The Mac-Haydn Theatre (MHT), after a successful run of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, continues its 49th season with the 2004 musical comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Based off of the 1988 movie of the same name, the 10-time Tony nominated musical by David Yazbek and Jeffrey Lane will be a MHT premiere.

Beloved Broadway shows were stripped down, sexied up and given a Broadway Bares twist at this year's edition of Broadway Bares Fire Island. Inspired by some of the theatre's greatest hits and set to pop music, the evening brought Broadway style to classic striptease. Twenty-six of New York City's best dancers came together in Fire Island Pines on June 3, 2017, and raised a record-breaking $56,533 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
